ATOM QLD Membership Renewals for 2012

Now that our students are settled a little and the summer break is a distant memory, it’s time to renew your ATOM Qld membership!

The fantastic news is that renewing or joining for the first time has NEVER been easier. Simply click HERE to access our new online membership page via The Education Shop.

You can choose your membership type and your magazine subscription bundle, pay and be good to go. The exciting part is – IT’S NOT BLOCKED BY EQ! yet…

If you would prefer to use the ol’ form and fax option, please download the 2012 membership form HERE. There have been some changes this year including the fax number so please ensure you use this form and not an old 2011 copy.

All memberships are due in Term One (even if you paid previously in Term 2/3. Only membership forms received late in Term 4 will flow onto this year.

Professional associations, particularly in Qld, survive only through schools taking out membership. We do not receive support from the department to offer services for our members.

Please take advantage of the new online renew/join option. Not only will you get that warm feeling of contributing to the association that supports Media Education and teachers, you’ll also get the buzz of our new sign-up process. In all seriousness, you’ll help us with our admin overheads by paying online. Please let me know if you have any questions.

SUMMER WORKSHOPS FOR MEDIA STUDENTS

School is finishing, and the corridors are filled with despondent students wondering how they will survive three months without your Media classes to stimulate and enthrall them. Luckily, there are various school holiday workshops available that will help to keep their creative faculties energised.

IN THE BIN is offering a summer workshop program on 19th – 21st Dec & 10th – 12th Jan. Click HERE for details.

NIDA are facilitating a touring program, based mainly at St Laurence’s College in South Brisbane and Southbank Institute of Technology. There are a wide vcariety of courses focussed on acting, directing, presenting and more. “Doctor Who: Acting on Screen” sounds particularly interesting. Details HERE.

Do you know of other school holiday programs aimed at Media students (or teachers)? If so, please email the webmaster (terryoberg@hotmail.com) or leave a comment below.
